Choline is one of the most under-claimed essential nutrients on the supplement shelf. Lecithin — specifically phosphatidylcholine — is the natural, food-source delivery vehicle for it. Phosphatidylcholine in lecithin is a concentrated dietary source of choline. EFSA has authorised three function claims for choline: contributes to normal lipid metabolism, maintenance of normal liver function, and normal homocysteine metabolism — applicable when the finished product delivers ≥82.5 mg choline per portion (15% NRV). GIIOFINE-P (soy or sunflower, by label) ships with assayed PC content so your formulator hits the threshold reliably.
Sunflower-derived lecithin is the soy-free option for supplement brands that cannot carry a "contains: soya" declaration — paediatric, hypoallergenic, sports recovery, and premium positioning. Phospholipid chemistry is comparable to soya lecithin without the allergen-label trigger; choline-claim compliance (per the EFSA function claims above) works the same way.
Athletes lose phospholipids during sustained endurance and resistance training. Adding instantized lecithin to recovery shakes both delivers PC and fixes the clumping problem that plagues high-protein matrices.
