De-oiled lecithin powder · ~95% active phospholipids

The same plant-based phospholipids — now pourable, clean and dust-controlled.

GIIOFINE-P is liquid lecithin with the carrier oil gently removed, leaving a free-flowing powder that's almost pure phospholipid. For dry premixes, capsules and instant powders, that means no oil leaching, no caking, and clean gravimetric dosing — the natural emulsifier in a form your dry process actually wants. Five plant sources cover sunflower, soya, non-GMO IP soya, rapeseed and ricebran, chosen by your label.

Four jobs GIIOFINE-P is made for

1 · Oil leaching from liquid lecithin in dry blends

Liquid lecithin carries roughly one-third co-extracted soybean oil (List, in Lecithins: Sources, Manufacture & Uses, 2nd ed., B.F. Szuhaj ed., AOCS Press, 2005, ch. 7). In a dry premix that oil leaches into starches and proteins, causes caking on storage, and degrades free-flow after a few weeks. De-oiled powder removes the oil carrier — what you weigh in is what stays active.

2 · Plant scale needs a pourable powder

Liquid lecithin is sticky, viscous (10,000–15,000 cP at 25°C) and needs heated transfer lines. GIIOFINE-P is a dry, free-flowing powder that goes straight into ribbon blenders, vertical mixers, and gravity-fed dosing systems. No heat. No pump. No cleaning headaches.

3 · High-PC fraction for instantising & emulsification

Phosphatidylcholine (PC) is the workhorse phospholipid for emulsification and water-attraction. De-oiling concentrates PC into the powder — you get more functional emulsifier per gram. That means lower inclusion rates and lower per-batch cost. Exact dose ships with the TDS.

4 · Non-GMO clean-label for EU & US buyers

European retailers and US clean-label brands need IP-traceable non-GMO soya — or sunflower entirely. The GIIOFINE-P range in non-GMO soy (-N) and sunflower (-F) covers both, with Food Chain ID certification and full segregation from upstream crushing through to packaging.

Six applications where GIIOFINE-P earns its keep

De-oiled powder vs liquid lecithin — when does the powder pay back?

Handling & dosing

Liquid lecithin needs heated jacketed lines (40–55°C), positive-displacement pumps, and CIP cycles between SKUs. Powder runs through any gravity hopper or auger, dosed in grams not litres, with ±1% accuracy on a simple loss-in-weight feeder. Labour and downtime savings are usually larger than the price delta.

Active concentration

Liquid lecithin is roughly 60% active phospholipids carried in 30–35% native oil (List, in Lecithins: Sources, Manufacture & Uses, 2nd ed., B.F. Szuhaj ed., AOCS Press, 2005, ch. 7). De-oiled powder is around 95%+ active. On a per-kilogram-of-PC basis the powder is typically lower cost-in-use, especially in dry applications where you don't need the carrier oil.

Finished-product stability

In dry mixes, liquid lecithin's carrier oil oxidises (peroxide value rises) and migrates, dragging shelf life down. De-oiled powder has lower oxidation potential because the unsaturated oil has been removed during processing. Result: longer best-before dates and fewer customer complaints on rancidity.

The GIIOFINE-P range

GIIOFINE-P (food-grade powder lecithin) is available in five source variants. SKU codes follow the GIIAVA convention [Category]-[Format]-[Source] — pick the source for your application; we issue the analytical spec, certification pack, and inclusion-rate guidance on the Technical Data Sheet shipped with your sample.

SKUSourceTypical fit
GIIOFINE-P-F Sunflower Soy-free EU-preferred Clean-label, infant / medical nutrition, and any brand avoiding the "Contains: Soya" allergen statement.
GIIOFINE-P-S Soy Default Workhorse grade for general food and nutra applications.
GIIOFINE-P-N Non-GMO IP Soy EU/US clean-label For brands needing IP-traceable non-GMO soy for EU retailer specs and US "non-GMO project" positioning.
GIIOFINE-P-R Rapeseed Where a non-soy, non-sunflower oilseed source is required — including markets with regional preferences for rapeseed-derived ingredients.
GIIOFINE-P-B Ricebran For Asian markets and brands building around rice-derived ingredient stories.

SKU code key — Category: GIIOFINE = food-grade lecithin · Format: P = powder · Source: F sunflower / S soy / N non-GMO IP soy / R rapeseed / B ricebran. Analytical specs, PC %, and inclusion ranges are issued on the Technical Data Sheet with your sample.

Formulation support, not just a quote

Most lecithin suppliers ship the bag and disappear. We send a Technical Data Sheet, a Certificate of Analysis batch-matched to your sample, a regulatory pack (Halal, Kosher, FSSC 22000, allergen, BSE/TSE), and — when the application is non-trivial — a formulation note from our application lab in Pune.

Sample requests are turned around in 48 hours from confirmed brief.

Typical inclusion ranges — GIIOFINE-P

Conservative commercial ranges across the most common applications. Final dose is application- and customer-specific and ships on the TDS with the trial sample.

ApplicationTypical GIIOFINE-P inclusion
Chocolate & confectionery (conching)0.3 – 0.5% of mass
Dry bakery premix / cake mix0.5 – 2.0% of mix
Instant beverage / dairy powder0.5 – 1.5% of dry blend
Infant nutrition powder0.5 – 1.0% of finished formula
